Outcomes
Year-Long Outcomes
We will have 6 year-long outcomes that will develop students' skills as scientists. The class will also incorporate additional outcomes that are more science concept-specific through out the school year.
#1 - Communicate – I am able to communicate ideas and information while being mindful of audience and purpose.
#2 - Plan – I can make deliberate plans, reflect upon and revise my plans so that I am able to achieve my goals.
#3 - Be Precise – I can use accurate scientific language and vocabulary while using appropriate writing conventions.
#4 - Argue – I can support my viewpoints with scientific evidence based on literature and data.
#5 - Conclude – I can make a thoughtful scientific conclusion by using scientific models, graphs and other evidence.
#6 - Discern – I can read scientific information in order to discern details, patterns and trends.
Science Content Outcomes
Throughout the school year, we will include additional outcomes that are more science content-specific. Much like the year-long outcomes, students will be able to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of science content through multiple pieces of evidence
#7 - I am able to identify the physical properties of an element by examining the Periodic Table of Elements.
#8 - I am able to identify the chemical properties of an element by examining the Periodic Table of Elements.
