About Me

I am a teacher at The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, located in New York City. We are a 6-12 all-girls, College-Bound school that focuses on providing our students with project-based, hands-on learning experiences. In a partnership with iZone, we have created a standards-based curriculum that facilitate the development of skills that students need to compete in the 21st Century.
I currently teach 8th grade science at TYWLS-Astoria. My students have built and raced Pinewood Derby cars while learning about the Laws of Motion, have created Intergalactic Planetary Cruises while learning about our Solar System and Universe, have engineered sound-proofing devices, and built a community garden and composting system with the help of Solar One and GrowNYC. We are always busy and always "learning by doing".
While not teaching and supporting my students, I enjoy reading comic books, watching movies that make me laugh and playing softball whenever I get the chance to do so.
